Use case

AI Interview Copilot for Product Manager Interviews

Product manager candidates interviewing for roles at tech companies — IC PM, senior PM, group PM, and director-level loops covering product sense, execution, leadership, analytics, and technical depth.

PM interviews are pattern-matched, but the patterns are hard to surface live

PM loops compress a year of thinking into 45-minute rounds. Interviewers ask you to design a product for an audience you've never thought about, debug a metric you've never seen, or trade off three roadmap bets in the abstract. You know the frameworks — CIRCLES, AARRR, the funnel breakdowns — but recalling the right one in the right order under time pressure is the actual skill being tested. A live copilot fills the gap between what you know and what you can say out loud in the next 90 seconds.

How Interview Cheat helps in a live PM interview

The overlay listens to the interviewer through your Mac's system audio, transcribes the question, and drafts a structured answer in your voice within a few seconds. You read the structure, then deliver the answer in your own words.

For product-sense questions ('design a notification system for a meditation app'), it surfaces the right framework — user → goal → solutions → tradeoffs → metrics — so you don't waste the first two minutes recalling structure.

For execution questions ('our retention dropped 8% last week, what do you do?'), it walks the debugging tree in order: confirm the metric → segment by surface → segment by cohort → form hypotheses → propose tests.

For estimation and analytical rounds, it scaffolds the assumption stack out loud — population, penetration, frequency, conversion — so you don't lose track mid-arithmetic.

Invisible Mode hides the overlay from screen capture entirely, so a full-desktop share on Zoom or Google Meet shows nothing.

Features that matter for this

Framework recall on demand

The drafted answer always starts with structure — CIRCLES for product design, the AARRR funnel for growth questions, the four lenses (leverage, confidence, reversibility, blast radius) for prioritization. You're never staring at a blank mental whiteboard.

Resume-grounded behavioral answers

Drop your resume into Settings once. Behavioral questions get drafted with your real projects, real metrics, and the STAR structure baked in. No more reaching for a story you half-remember.

Screenshot context for case rounds

Interviewer drops a metric chart, a dashboard, or a user-journey diagram into the share? Hit the screenshot hotkey and the next answer references what's on the screen.

BYO Anthropic or OpenAI key

Point it at the latest Claude or GPT model the day it ships. PM interviewers are calibrated to top-tier model quality; you should be too.

Sample questions and how to answer them

How would you measure success for a new onboarding flow?

Lead with the north-star metric (first-aha event inside seven days), then layer time-to-aha, step-level drop-off, and D7 retention next to first-week conversion to catch the 'looks great, doesn't stick' failure mode.

Design a product for senior citizens who want to learn a new language.

Walk the CIRCLES loop out loud: clarify scope, identify the user (specifically who, what life stage, what motivation), goals (social, cognitive, travel), three solution sketches with tradeoffs, pick one, define success metrics.

Our weekly active users dropped 8% last week. What do you do?

Confirm the data is real (instrumentation, weekend skew), segment by platform and cohort, generate hypotheses ranked by likelihood, propose the cheapest test that would distinguish them. Avoid jumping to a fix.

Walk me through a product decision you got wrong.

STAR with the lesson explicit at the end: the situation, the call you made, the metric that moved against you, the lesson you would now apply to the next decision.

Frequently asked questions

Does Interview Cheat work for FAANG PM loops?

Yes. The drafted answers use the structures FAANG interviewers calibrate to — CIRCLES, the AARRR funnel, MECE breakdowns for estimation. You still have to deliver the answer in your own words; the overlay handles framework recall and structure so your brain can focus on judgment.

Will it help with the analytical / SQL round?

It helps with the verbal walkthrough of an analytical problem — what you'd query, what you'd segment by, what you'd plot — but it does not write SQL for you on a coding pad. For technical SQL rounds with a shared editor, you're better off practicing the syntax cold.

Can the interviewer see the overlay on Zoom or Google Meet?

Not with Invisible Mode unlocked. The macOS ScreenCaptureKit content filter removes the overlay from every screen-capture path on the system. You'll see the panel; the interviewer won't.

Does Interview Cheat use my resume in its answers?

Yes — paste it into Settings once and behavioral answers will be grounded in your actual projects, with the metrics and dates you provided. Nothing is uploaded to our servers; the resume is sent directly to your Anthropic or OpenAI key with each prompt.
